Coach M began her higher education studies at Los Angeles Valley College. There, she graduated with a liberal studies degree, Cum Laude, and special honors focused on Child Development. After that, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Studies with a breadth in Educational Systems at Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges located in Claremont, California, on an academic merit scholarship. Coach M graduated from Pitzer as a multiple-awarded scholar, most notably as a 2011 J. William Fulbright Research Scholar Finalist for Mathematics Education to Finland (1 of 11 US State Dept. nominees out of 10,000 applicants).

The following year, she received an Excellence, Equity, & Integrity Fellowship Award to attend Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. After completing one full year of graduate study, majoring in Special Education and Education within Claremont Graduate University’s Teacher Preparation Program, she chose to defer her studies with a mere eight months remaining to better tend to her neurodiverse son, who struggled in a brick-and-mortar educational setting.

After providing him with more of her unconditional love, attention, therapeutic and academic expertise, and a non-traditional educational setting, he thrived emotionally, mentally, and academically. He is now studying abroad in Italy as he pursues his undergraduate degree at a top UC. He has an extraordinary academic record with a particular interest in history and political studies.

Today, Coach M holds a Masters Degree in School Counseling from the University of Southern California (USC) Rossier School of Education, and a California PPS Credential after graduating with Leadership Honors from Kappa Gamma Gamma, the USC Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi International Honor Society in Education. Additionally, she was honored and inducted into USC’s most prestigious Honor Society, Phi Beta Phi for graduating in the top 10% university wide across all disciplines.
